A fun day filled with friends is the best kind. Add a flamingo and its a photo op!
While out with our friends the Baker’s at a charming local boutique Trends & Traditions (www.trendsandtraditionsboutique.com) in San Marcos, Texas, Miss Britt sports her now favorite our dresses, Butterfly Dreams, while frolicking about with her brother, friends, and of course a flamingo!

Another day out for Miss Britt! This time it was errands (and play!) at the Tanger Outlet Mall in San Marcos, Texas (www.tangeroutlet.com/sanmarcos) where Miss Britt wore our Daisy Dreams full skirt dress.
And it didn’t stop there! It was a full day affair landing us at a friend’s house for more play with her son on the playscape and with her dogs.
We’re testing the durability of our product with great results!
Thanks to Our Crew!

Fun in the Fabric!
Posted by admin on 29 April, 2009 - Comments (0)
Miss Britt’s dresses are all about the fabric. Our styles are easy for toddlers to wear and move in, and the fabrics are fun and playful.
We receive many comments on how pretty our dresses are … So perhaps you’re also wondering how durable or practical they are?
In a day … from the Kids Museum (www.mckennachildren.org) to McDonald’s (www.mcdonalds.com) to a Mexican dinner at Milagro in Wimberley, Texas, Britt stayed looking fun and fresh all day. Then it’s as easy as the rest of the wash!
So whether it’s a play day or a special occasion,
our dresses are pretty and practical!

Red, White & Balloons!
Posted by admin on 7 July, 2008 - Comments (3)
We’re hoping you all had a Happy 4th! We attended the Wimberley 4th of July Parade where Miss Britt was quite festive wearing our Red, White & Balloons dress.
Last year we were on the Blue Bacon Toys float throwing necklaces and candy, and this year we were in front of the store catching necklaces and candy! Both equally fun.

Grand Opening of Baby Bacon!
Posted by admin on 18 June, 2008 - Comments (0)
Baby Bacon’s Grand Opening June 19 was a huge success! Our own Miss Britt stole the show in our newest Color Me! dress. She was also quite handy making sure every one had food on their plates and keeping the caterers on their toes!
Store owners Patti and Shauna had people stopping by until well after 8:00p. Food was catered by a new local favorite Fresh and decadent desserts provided by Our Lady of the Lunch Beth Watson. Some fabulous door prizes were also donated by anesthetician Michelle Durant of Wimberley Medi Spa, Polly’s Apothecary, and Shelley Shroyer Photography (www.shelleyshroyer.com).
We also had a celebrity sighting! Actress Nancy McKeon, who has a home in the area, stopped in to lend her support to the opening. Among her talented work, you’ll remember Nancy as the child star who played Joe on the Facts of Life sitcom. She looks better than ever!
We have dresses in our new fabrics in the store that are truly adorable. You can also see them in our Online Shop and Galleries!
Just for grins …

Our First Design, and a Fashion Show … !
Posted by admin on 15 June, 2008 - Comments (2)
On our home page, we have a picture of Miss Britt wearing the first dress we designed, Fleur d’Oranger. Very fun and exciting to see her in it. It’s such a cute style. You can find this dress in our Online Shop or in the Baby Bacon Store (www.bluebacontoys.com) in Wimberley, Texas.
We also had this dress make it’s debut in the Wimberley Fashion Show, a mere two days after picking it up from our seamstress. As last minute as it was, it was ever so petitely modeled by Little Ava, who did it justice with her five steps and a curtsy. She stole the show!
The Fashion Show was graciously held by Cedar Grove Steakhouse (www.cedargrovesteakhouse.com), which is a lovely restaurant for fine dining and events, located at The Junction on Ranch Road 12 in Wimberley.
For those who haven’t been to Wimberley (www.wimberley.org), it’s in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, just west of Austin. It’s a quaint antique town, filled with many talented artists, musicians, and great attractions along the Blanco, Guadalupe, and Comal Rivers. It’s also known for it’s ever popular Market Days (www.visitwimberley.com/marketdays). For more great information on this area, also visit www.coolhousesaustin.com. This is a fun site with first-hand ideas on places to go and things to do, as well as local real estate. Come visit us!
And last but not least, in our Galleries section, you’ll see our fabrics to come. Much more on the way!
Fabric, Photos, our Model and more …
Posted by admin on 11 June, 2008 - Comments (0)
We’re having so much fun with our little creations! One of my favorite things to do in designing is finding fabric. It’s a fun adventure to find that needle in the haystack that will be perfect for our little angels. Of our many finds, two of our local favorites are High Fashion Fabric (www.highfashionfabrics.com) in Houston and Silk Road (www.srfabrics.com) in Austin. Internationally, we’re using a fantastic fabric from Prints Charming (www.printscharming.com.au) out of Australia. Having lived there, we love supporting them by creating our dresses with their fabric.
Photos coming soon! After getting our first order in the door of Baby Bacon (www.bluebacontoys.com), now one of our tasks at hand is prepping our photos for our website. Sometimes this involves Miss Britt being in a playful mood to model … check back with us to see how we’re doing!
The fun is in the details for us, and here we have a picture of our specialty bling-it-on handmade hangtags!
We love hearing from you, so comment on our blogs or go to our contact page and send us a message.
Have fun!

Our first and much anticipated order went into Baby Bacon today! Truly exciting. We’ve been working on it for months, and it feels great to have it in the door!!
We have a great team that I’d like to mention … a very talented patternmaker, grader, design consultant and production manager Angie Ramirez, patient and meticulous seamstresses Antonina and Lourdes of Frida & Shirley, and Baby Bacon owners Patti and Shauna (www.bluebacontoys.com).
Also, a very special mention to our family and friends for your support, encouragement, and for always being there. Locally, I’d like to thank some dear friends Vicki (www.coolhousesaustin.com), Beverly, and Gigi (www.thefabulousfactor.com) for lighting a fire under me!
We’re off the ground!

Adventures Abound … !
Posted by admin on 4 June, 2008 - Comments (0)
Such fun and wonderful things happening all at once! This is the week we put our first dresses in the Baby Bacon store in Wimberley, Texas (www.bluebacontoys.com). The process of making that happen includes a great team of people. From seamstresses, graphic artists, photographers and store owners to friends you call for sounding boards. It’s been loads of fun, especially while toting my daughter Miss Britt and son Caillin around. They make it an adventure!
Yesterday, Caillin wanted to sport his Red Power Ranger costume while running errands. After a bit, we ended up at the Burger King playground where Caillin and Britt were playing with two little girls. Caillin started his power ranger moves and began growling to scare them, followed by his special karate. The girls kept telling me he was getting them, so I assured them they could find a way to get away from him if they really wanted to!
When we left, Caillin was upset and asked if I got their number. He decided he wanted to get a phonebook and call them. I replied “Honey, girls don’t usually give their numbers to boys that hit them! We like to play differently, we don’t so much like hitting.” He pondered this for a moment and quickly moved on.
Later I said “Oh yeah, I bought you two something!” I bought he and Britt a wooden shoe that teaches how to lace and tie. Caillin said “What is it Mom?” I replied “It’s a shoe.” He said “A shoe!” I said “Yes, it’s a shoe that teaches you something.” He said “Like how to play with girls …”

It’s official, Miss Britt’s Perfect Fit has a website!
We want to thank, and recommend, web developer Trevor Holewinski, who has been brilliant in getting our website up and making it easy and fun.
And if we didn’t mention Tom Parish in our first blog, it would just be wrong! We want to thank and acknowledge Tom first for being an incredible expert in his field and recommending Trevor, and secondly for his patience, encouragement, and belief. Tom, we’re blogging!
